Ovidius University of Constanța
The Ovidius University of Constanța is a public higher education institution founded in 1961 and transformed into a comprehensive university in 1990. It has study programs in medical and natural sciences, humanities and engineering, social and economic sciences, law and administrative sciences, theology, and arts. It is accredited according to the Law on Higher Education and recognized by national and international institutions with high confidence. UOC has accreditation for the three cycles for accreditation (accreditation, certification, and qualification), being the first Romanian university to be accredited in all three cycles.
After the fall of the communist regime, and comprises seven faculties, two centers, and one institute organized into six academic districts. Ovidius University has 13 faculties with over 40 departments and four institutes, an economic high school, a research institute with a space flight department, three colleges, a post-university level institution, and over 17 000 students.
Ovidius University (UOC) is a public university in Constanta, Romania. This medical university is a non-profit public higher education institution located in the large town of Constanta (population range of 250,000-499,999 residents) in Rumaila. Officially recognized by the Ministry of Education and Research (Ministerul Cercetarii, Romania. UOC also provides several academic and non-academic facilities and services to its students including a library, sports facilities and/or activities, study abroad and exchange programs, as well as administrative services.
Ovidius University is a state-owned public higher education institution. Its legal status is that of a civil law university; it is ruled by two formal bodies: the Administrative Board, responsible for day-to-day operations, and the Senate, which is the supreme decision-making body, in charge of establishing the regulatory framework of the university.

Hostel Description
The
four student dormitories at Ovidius University each have a capacity of over one
thousand students. The dorms are furnished to a high standard, with all items
needed for students to live comfortably during their stay. All rooms include
internet access, bedding and curtain rails, furniture as well as basic
household appliances (i.e. radio, air conditioning). The Ovidius
University Library is impressive. The room is filled with a healthy hum of
students poring through historic texts, newspapers, and journals. The walls are
lined with hundreds of thousands of books and diverse works of art from
different locations across the world.
The
Faculty of Physical Education and Sports is open to international students and
offers a wide range of sports activities. All students can choose from a
variety of sports, according to their preferences and physical capabilities.
The exercise program at the university is designed based on the requirements
set by European universities so that students are trained for a physically
demanding lifestyle not only in the university but also in future work life.
