Pskov State University has a multilevel system of higher education: Bachelors's degree (4 years or 5years); Specialists degree (5 or 6 years); Masters's degree (2 years); Postgraduate studies (3 or 4years). Education is provided in 149 educational programs, including 76 bachelor degree training programs, 45 Masters degree training programs, 9 specialists degree training programs, 19 training programs of scientific-pedagogical staff in postgraduate studies, 38 specialties of secondary vocational training, and also more than 100 programs of further education.

The university includes 22 training and laboratory buildings, 11 student dormitories for 3500 residents, 6 assembly halls, and 8 gyms but in 2019 a new campus was opened on the embankment of the Velikiye.

The university has 9 membership options, 7 reading halls, and 2 electronic reading rooms in the library. Moreover, the total stock of the library is exceeded by one million books and periodicals both in traditional and electronic formats. Also, it is having an automated information library system and launched a central e-catalog for about 170000 records recently.

With 10 faculties and 51 chairs, the university structure was made which includes a branch in the city of Velikiye Liki (1 faculty and 3 chairs), PskovSu College, and the Life Learning Institute.

At present, 70% of the University teaching staff has D.Sc. and Cand.Sc. degrees and academic status. It is also evident by the results of undergraduates and graduate students grasp when they participate in regional, national, and international competitions, conferences, and olympiads that specialists are showing academic excellence. Currently, there is about 10,000 students’ enrollment in which 1300 are international students from 41 countries of the world.

Because of the highest academic achievements, the university was proud and has created a comfortable environment for doing research in different fields of knowledge. Also, the university includes 4research laboratories which include laboratory of archaeological and of cultural heritage, laboratory of regional philological studies, laboratory of higher education quality problems, training, and production laboratory for energy efficiency. Moreover, it includes 8 basic chairs, 3 centers of common use equipped with modern scientific equipment, and 8 small innovative enterprises. For further education, the university offers 87 additional programs and represented as a Life LongLearning Institute which also provides training for future enrollees in 19t University core courses in which 2 are delivered in the PskovSU branch in the city of Velikiye Luki. Resource Center of PskovSU for personnel Training for Industry and Social Sphere of the Pskov Region assists in the employment of students.
