Introduction

Yerevan State Medical University established in the year 1920 as a faculty and established as an independent Institution in 1930. Yerevan State Medical University is one of the leading government university in Eastern Europe. The University has enrolled in the Directory of Higher Medical Institutions embraced by the World Health Organization (WHO). It was recognized by WHO, MCI, and many more international professional groups. Yerevan State Medical University has formed into a huge scale, a well-managed comprehensive university with good teaching staff. It is one of those universities which is having an advanced system of education, and it trains students with the help of updated education technology of medical study. The university embraces the high-tech methods of practical medicine that empower students to be focused, competitive and flexible in the world market.

The university is providing the best infrastructure for its students and the quality facilities like good and spacious hostels, libraries, modern classrooms, etc. Moreover, the university is providing a healthy and friendly environment on the campus for its students. The institute has various other activity centers in the campus like gym, separate sports complex, etc. The University believes in the overall development of every student and thus organizes various personality development programs such as Seminars, Debates, Conferences and Student Exchange programs. Yerevan State Medical University is offering a low-cost medicine program. The university is preparing doctors for near countries, and far abroad. Yerevan State Medical University is a member of the International Association of Universities, which gives extraordinary opportunity in development of international relations, students exchange programs, probation period abroad, participation in grant programs under the aegis of UNESCO joint research work and conferences.

YSMU set up direct partnerships in the form of extensive cooperation with around 30 universities around the world. In almost a century-long existence the University has trained over 30,000 doctors. Currently, more than 162 Doctor of Sciences and 481 Ph.D. degree holders constitute the University faculty of 1100 Professors.

Over 7000 future doctors currently study at the University. 24% of these students are foreign students from 26 nations all over the globe. These countries include the United States, Russia, Germany, India, Israel, Canada, Iran, Iraq, Georgia, Great Britain, Greece, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Venezuela, Syria, Singapore, Australia, Poland, Sweden, China, France, Jordan, Cyprus, Lebanon, and Sri Lanka.

Eligibility criteria: - Candidate must have passed their 10+2(sr. secondary education) with a minimum of 50% (45% for reserved category) marks with PCB from any recognized board. The minimum age should be 17 years by 31st December of the admission year. Admission: - Admission will be on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance exam (NEET). NEET Cut-Off (2020):- 147 marks for general category, 113 for reserved category.

Some other facilities of the university: -

Library: - The university has a library with more than 600,000 textbooks and professional literature, journals, periodicals, etc.
Sports: - The institute has both indoor and outdoor sports facilities in the campus like 6 outdoor tennis courts, 2 sand beach volleyball Grounds, 40 Basketball and Volleyball Courts, a Roller-Skating Field, an Indoor Swimming pool and an Outdoor Swimming pool.
Labs: - The institute has a well-equipped lab in the campus with modern equipment and tools.
Computer lab: - The institute has a well-equipped computer lab in the campus with the latest computer machines and tools.

Hostel Description

The university has 2 buildings for foreign students in which they are providing a well-furnished room with all the necessary amenities like bed, chair, mattress, air-conditioner, water heater, etc.

Some of the other important facts about the hostel are: -

University distance from Hostel: - There is a walking distance of about 15 to 20 min between the hostel and university.
Room occupancy info: - The hostels are available in single, double, and triple sharing occupancies in rooms. Students can choose one of them based on their needs, requirement, budget, and availability.
Basic Amenities: - All the rooms are well-furnished and centrally air-conditioned with all the necessary amenities like a bed, bed sheets, mattress, study table, etc. Moreover, there is a common study room is there in every hostel.
Laundry room info: - Each floor of every hostel is having a common laundry room that can be used by every student of that hostel. The laundry room is equipped with 7 washing machines and 7 tumble dryers.
Kitchen info: - Every hostel is having two common kitchens which can be used by every student of that particular floor. Kitchens are shared with 2-3 electric burners, and a microwave, where students can cook their meals whenever they want to do.
Washroom and Toilet info: - There is an attached washroom and toilet in every room of the hostel.
Boy and Girl Division info: - Boys and girls hostels are separate.
Security info: - All the hostels are very safe and secure as they have security cameras in every hostel for the students safety. Security staff is always there for the security of the students.
Indian Mess availability info: - Indian mess is available in the hostel in which they are providing healthy and nutritious food to students.
Gym info: - The university has a gym in the campus with modern machines and tools like dumbbells, treadmill, etc.

Important Notes

First-year hostel fee is added in tuition fee, Mess charges will be extra ($100-150 per month ). Visa extension and health insurance is excluded . ($1 = 65₹ at the time of calculation ) . Hostel Charges are $500-800 per year
